Biography

I started NYNonProfit.com in 2002 as a response to a lack of awareness of many of NYC's worthy nonprofit organizations.

After the terrible events of 9/11, thousands of non-profit organizations and charities were scrambling to help the city put itself back together.

I knew many people in corporations that were
giving to charities, but a lot of them wanted to give to something other than the Red Cross.

I started researching nonprofits and found that there were tens of thousands of organizations that do really good work here in New York.

NYNonProfit.com highlights the work of these organizations through it's enewsletter www.nynonprofit.com, through it's Nonprofit Exchange Meetings and now through this blog.
